On this page we will be adding links to documents about the park:
Park location: Very northern edge of the city of Cardiff – approx 4 miles form Cardiff City Centre. Address: Cherry Orchard Road, Lisvane, Cardiff, CF14 0UE. [Map]. Car park (with M/F/disabled toilets) available. It is a 1 minute walk from Lisvane/ Thornhill railway station which lies on the Valley Line between Cardiff Central & Queen Street stations and Caerphilly-Rhymney.
A brief history of Parc Cefn Onn: Since forming, the Friends have been collating historical information in order to produce a history booklet in 2018/19 to capture the fascinating story. In the mean-time here is a short summary.
Special trees in Cefn Onn: This leaflet (in print and fold format) produced by the Friends will help you locate, identify, and learn about some of the special trees we have in Cefn Onn.
I wonder if anyone would remember an interesting talk given by a scientist held in Lisvane many years ago (maybe around 2013/ 14/15)? She had been looking at the water courses and pond in the park. In particular from the effects of run off from fertiliser applied to the grass at the golf course and farm above Cefn Onn.
I am studying Environmental Policy with the Open University and would really like to reference the report in an assessment. I would also like to contribute to a follow up investigation into how the ecosystem has changed over time. Does anyone have any information about this or the scientist involved?
